Purpose of the studies
The aim of the uniform Master's studies is to acquire knowledge, develop skills and social competences necessary for ethical, reflective and effective professional and personal functioning in a changing reality. In particular - based on the description contained in the learning outcomes - the aim of the studies is to provide: in-depth and expanded knowledge, interdisciplinary in nature, including extended terminology, facilitating the understanding of the development, complexity and variability of pedagogy and educational practice. The studies are also aimed at developing the ability to search, analyze, evaluate and integrate information from various sources and to formulate critical judgments based on them; conducting scientific research (with particular emphasis on action-research research), as well as formulating and expressing one's own, independent views and ideas on important social and ideological matters. The aim of the studies is to shape competences, readiness to communicate and cooperate with the environment, to take up professional and personal challenges as well as sensitivity to educational problems and responsibility for preserving the cultural heritage of the region, country, Europe and the world.
A graduate of uniform master's studies in the field of preschool and early school education, undertaking work with children and other educational entities, will have in-depth and extended knowledge of an interdisciplinary, general pedagogical, historical-philosophical, sociological and psychological knowledge, including extended terminology, theories and methodology of pedagogy and pedagogy and pedagogy early school education, facilitating the understanding of the development of pedagogy and preschool and early school education and educational practice, as well as the complexity and variability of the relationship between educational theory and practice, as well as enabling reflection on changes in pedagogy, alternative pedagogical systems, the concept of lifelong learning and education for sustainable development; structured knowledge of ethical principles and norms, which will enable understanding of the broad socio-cultural context of education, upbringing, care work and constructing the concept of one's own professional development
In the field of pre-school and early childhood education, the graduate will demonstrate knowledge of the developmental regularities and educational processes of a child in middle and late childhood. Will know the essence and methods of stimulating and diagnosing a child's development in these years, the principles, methods and organizational forms of work with a child in kindergarten and grades XNUMX-XNUMX of primary school, criteria for selecting educational plans and programs, basic legal acts regulating teaching, educational and care work in kindergarten and grades XNUMX-XNUMX of primary school. They will acquire knowledge about the methods and forms of professional as well as personal improvement and self-evaluation.
Will have the skills to: perceive and solve theoretical and practical problems in the field of preschool and early childhood education; use theoretical and research approaches and concepts appropriate for pedagogy, including preschool education
and early school; will be able to personalize the process of education and upbringing depending on the diagnosed diverse needs and abilities of children, professionally use a diagnostic workshop in the work of a kindergarten teacher and primary school teacher, as well as properly respond to problems of a child from dysfunctional families and the abused child; negotiate solving educational problems and supporting children with special educational needs in kindergarten and at school.
They will be aware of their own personal competences, the need to self-diagnose them and the need for continuous self-education in order to improve professional qualifications and improve their personality. Will be aware of the ethical dimension in pedagogical research and will understand the need to reflect on ethics in relation to the work performed.
The graduate will have practical skills:
- allowing for a reliable assessment of original educational and educational projects and the programming of innovative interactions and strategies for working with preschool and early school children.
- Gain orientation in the environmental conditions of the child's educational and developmental processes.
- Will be able to solve dilemmas related to the course of the educational process.
- Will be able to integrate knowledge from various scientific disciplines and efficiently use it in diagnostic procedures.
- It will construct original strategies to support the development of children at preschool and younger school age.
- Using heuristic methods, he will creatively plan his own personal development.
The graduate will be sensitive to the needs of preschool and early school children and ready to independently solve educational problems. Will be prepared to act as an initiator and coordinator of social life; activating the family and local environment of pupils. Will be objective in assessing himself and aware of the importance of his personal development.
Moreover, the Graduate will:
- had knowledge of a foreign language at the B2 + level of proficiency in the European System for the Description of Language Education of the Council of Europe;
- will learn the ability to use information and communication technologies in creating and conducting educational processes and providing first aid.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
The aim of the project is to increase the competences of 104 people participating in higher education through the implementation of the project, i.e. the development of PKN with the teaching specialization, and then their implementation through the implementation of studies for the field of teaching specialization: Preschool and early school education - uniform Master's studies course of study) at WSHiU in Poznań, in the period from March 1, 2019 to December 31, 2022. Total participation in the project 92 K and 12 M. Field of study, i.e. Pre-school and Early School Education - uniform master's studies (individual organization of studies) at which PKN will be implemented.
